This is an entry-level uniformed services role focused on security, public safety, and operational support duties.
About the Role
As an SSC GD Constable, you will support national security and public order through field duties, guarding, patrolling, and operational assistance as per unit requirements. The role demands physical fitness, discipline, integrity, and readiness for duty in varied conditions and locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform guard, patrol, and security duties at assigned locations.
- Maintain law and order support functions as directed by superior officers.
- Assist in operational deployments, crowd control, and emergency response when required.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to safety, security, and reporting.
- Maintain discipline, turnout, and compliance with force regulations.
- Support documentation and verification processes during postings and assignments.
Eligibility & Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or equivalent from a recognized board.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 23 years
- Age relaxation applicable as per SSC GD recruitment rules.
Physical Eligibility (Indicative)
- Male (General/EWS/OBC/SC): Height 170 cm; Chest 80–85 cm; Running 5 km in 24 minutes
- Male (ST): Height 162.5 cm; Chest 76–81 cm; Running 5 km in 24 minutes
- Female (General/EWS/OBC/SC): Height 157 cm; Running 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
- Female (ST): Height 150 cm; Running 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
- Ladakh Region (special running standards): Male 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec; Female 800 m in 4 min
