Position: Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’
Location: All Over India
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Stenographers (Grade C & Grade D) to support official documentation and administrative communication through high-accuracy shorthand and transcription. This role requires strong English/Hindi language proficiency, excellent typing/shorthand speed, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate shorthand dictation in English and/or Hindi within prescribed time limits.
- Transcribe shorthand notes into clear, well-formatted documents with high accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain official correspondence, reports, minutes, and other administrative documents.
- Manage document flow, filing, and record-keeping as assigned.
- Support scheduling, coordination, and general office administration tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and follow applicable procedures.
- Assist in other duties assigned by the department/office as required.
Requirements
- Education: Passed Class 12 (12th) or equivalent examination.
- Age (as on 01-Aug-2020):
- Grade C: 18 to 30 years
- Grade D: 18 to 27 years
- Age Relaxation (upper age limit):
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Other relaxations as per applicable government rules
- Stenography Test & Shorthand Proficiency:
- Grade C (All Applicants): 40 minutes (English) / 55 minutes (Hindi)
- Grade C (Candidates allowed to use Scribe in CBE): 55 minutes (English) / 75 minutes (Hindi)
- Grade D (All Applicants): 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi)
- Grade D (Candidates allowed to use Scribe in CBE): 70 minutes (English) / 90 minutes (Hindi)
- Strong grammar, comprehension, and proofreading skills.
- Comfortable working with computers and standard office software.
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 marks, 2 hours; sections include General Intelligence & Reasoning and English Language & Comprehension.
- Stenography Test
- Skill Test / CBE / Stenography Test (as applicable)
Compensation
- Grade C Pay Scale: Rs. 9,300 – Rs. 34,800
- Grade D Pay Scale: Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200
