The High Court of Judicature at Patna invites applications for the post of Stenographer (Group-C). This role supports court and administrative proceedings through accurate English shorthand dictation, transcription, and professional typing, along with day-to-day computer-based office work. The selection process includes a written examination followed by an interview.

Responsibilities

Take accurate dictation in English shorthand and transcribe within defined timelines.
Prepare, format, and proofread official documents, correspondence, notes, and drafts.
Perform English typing work with speed and accuracy for court/office requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of court records, proceedings, and sensitive information.
Use computer applications for document preparation, data entry, and routine office tasks.
Organize files, maintain records, and support administrative workflows as assigned.
Coordinate with officers/sections for timely completion of stenographic and clerical tasks.

Requirements

Education: Must have passed Intermediate (12th) from a recognized board/university.
Certifications: Certificate in English Shorthand and English Typing, plus a Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application of at least 6 months from a recognized institution.
Skill Benchmarks:
- Minimum 80 w.p.m. in English Shorthand
- Minimum 40 w.p.m. in English Typing
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 37 years (UR/EWS Male)
- Maximum: 40 years (UR/EWS/BC/EBC Female)
- Maximum: 40 years (BC/EBC Male)
- Maximum: 42 years (SC/ST Male & Female)
- Maximum: 47 years (as applicable under rules)
