Position: Technician (Fitter/Electrician/Welder) Trainee (Category III)

Industry: Mining & Heavy Engineering (Coal Operations)

Overview: We are hiring Technician Trainees across Fitter, Electrician, and Welder trades to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations in an industrial mining environment. This role is ideal for ITI-qualified candidates with apprenticeship training who are ready to build a long-term technical career in maintenance and plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment as per assigned trade (Fitter/Electrician/Welder).
  • Assist in installation, alignment, inspection, and troubleshooting of plant and utility systems under supervision.
  • Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and standard operating procedures relevant to the trade.
  • Support safe isolation/lockout-tagout practices and comply with site safety rules and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain tools, tackle, and work area housekeeping; ensure proper storage and handling of equipment.
  • Record work completed, observations, and parts usage in logs or maintenance systems as instructed.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams during shutdowns, repairs, and routine servicing.
  • Participate in training, skill development, and on-the-job assessments during the trainee period.

Requirements

  • Class 10 (High School) pass from a recognized board.
  • ITI certificate (2-year course) in the relevant trade/branch (Fitter/Electrician/Welder or equivalent as applicable).
  • One-year Apprenticeship Training Certificate.
  • Age: 18 to 30 years (age relaxation as per applicable rules/policy).
  • Basic understanding of industrial safety, tools, and trade fundamentals.
  • Ability to work in shifts and in field/plant conditions.
  • Fitness to meet role requirements; selection may include medical examination.
  • Strong discipline, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to industrial maintenance practices, rotating equipment, electrical panels, wiring, or fabrication/welding work (as per trade).
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings/schematics.
  • Good communication and teamwork in a structured work environment.
