Position Overview
As a Technician-III / Operator-III / Plant Attendant-III, you will assist in day-to-day plant operations, equipment monitoring, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to statutory and safety requirements. The exact assignment and trade alignment will depend on your ITI/NAC discipline and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support operation and maintenance activities of plant equipment and auxiliaries as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in monitoring of electrical/mechanical/instrumentation systems, readings, alarms, and basic parameter checks.
- Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, tightening, and minor repairs under supervision.
- Report abnormalities, faults, and safety hazards promptly and help in first-level troubleshooting.
- Maintain logs, checklists, and shift records; support documentation for audits and compliance.
- Follow workplace safety practices, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe material handling.
- Assist in shutdown/overhaul activities, tool handling, spares management, and coordination with senior staff.
- Participate in training, drills, and continuous improvement initiatives related to plant reliability and safety.
Requirements
- Education: Secondary (10th) from RBSE/CBSE or equivalent.
- Technical Qualification: ITI certificate with NCVT/SCVT accreditation or equivalent National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in a relevant trade.
- Eligible Trades (indicative groups):
- Group I: Electrician / Power Electrician / Wireman
- Group II: Electronics Mechanic / COPA
- Group III: Boiler Attendant / Steam Turbine Cum Auxiliary Plant Operator
- Group IV: Welder (Gas & Electric) / Fitter
- For certain utility assignments: Electrician / Power Electrician / Wireman / Lineman / SBA
- Age: 18 to 28 years (as per applicable rules; relaxation as per regulations).
- Ability to work in shifts and in industrial plant environments.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow compliance requirements.
