Responsibilities

  • Support safe and compliant operations in mining, plant, and industrial environments as per UCIL and statutory standards.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment and systems (e.g., winding engines, boilers, compressors) based on role requirements.
  • Assist in underground mechanised metal mining operations, including supervision and execution of shift activities (Mining Mate roles).
  • Perform blasting activities in underground metal mines following explosive handling and electrical blasting safety protocols (Blaster roles).
  • Participate in structured apprenticeship training and on-the-job learning under UCIL guidelines (Apprentice roles).
  • Maintain operational logs, compliance records, and support inspections/audits as required.

Requirements

Age Limit (as on 30-April-2020)

  • Graduate Operational Trainee (Chemical): 30 years
  • Mining Mate-C: 35 years
  • Boiler-cum Compressor Attendant-A: 30 years
  • Winding Engine Driver-B: 32 years
  • Blaster-B: 32 years
  • Apprentice (Mining Mate): 25 years
  • Apprentice (Laboratory Assistant): 25 years

Educational Qualification & Experience (role-wise)

  • Graduate Operational Trainee (Chemical): B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry) 3-year course with minimum 60% marks for UR and 55% for SC/ST. Knowledge of computers preferred.
  • Mining Mate-C: Class 12 pass with unrestricted Mining Mate Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS; minimum 5 years experience as Mining Mate in underground mechanised metal mines; ability to read/write/speak Hindi/local language.
  • Boiler-cum Compressor Attendant-A: Class 10 pass with 1st Class Boiler Attendant Certificate (State/UT Board); 1 year experience as in-charge with 1st Class certificate (single boiler with steam pipes or battery of boilers with total minimum heating surface 300 sq. mtr.); conversant with operation of oil-fired boilers.
  • Winding Engine Driver-B: Class 10 or equivalent; 1st Class Winding Engine Driver’s Certificate from DGMS; more than 3 years experience as Winding Engine Driver in metal/coal mines, including at least 1 year on a 100 HP winder or more.
  • Blaster-B: Class 10 pass with unrestricted Blaster’s Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS; minimum 3 years experience as Blaster in underground metal mines; conversant with explosive electrical blasting.
  • Apprentice (Mining Mate): Class 12 pass with 60% marks (UR/OBC-NCL) and 55% marks (SC/ST).
  • Apprentice (Laboratory Assistant): Class 10 pass with 60% marks (UR/OBC-NCL) and 55% marks (SC/ST).
