Role Overview
As a Sub Inspector / Platoon Commander, you will contribute to maintaining law and order, supporting investigations, supervising field operations, and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures. The role may involve shift duties, field deployments, and participation in physical assessments and training as mandated by UP Police.
Responsibilities
- Support law and order management and public safety operations in assigned areas.
- Assist in preliminary inquiries, documentation, and coordination for investigations as per instructions.
- Supervise and coordinate field teams during routine duties and special deployments.
- Ensure adherence to departmental protocols, reporting standards, and operational discipline.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and assist in administrative tasks related to policing operations.
- Participate in training, drills, and readiness activities, including physical fitness requirements.
- Coordinate with senior officers and relevant units for operational execution and incident response.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation (Bachelor’s) degree from a recognized university/institution in India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
- Document Upload: Graduation mark sheet is mandatory. If the degree certificate is unavailable, a provisional certificate must be uploaded; if that is also unavailable, upload relevant mark sheets. Original documents must be produced during document verification and physical standard test.
- Age Limit (as on 1 July 2025): Minimum 21 years, Maximum 28 years (age relaxation as per UP Police/UPPRPB rules).
- Selection Stages: Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Document Verification, Medical Test.

- Male: 4.8 KM in 28 minutes
- Female: 2.4 KM in 16 minutes
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Male (UR/OBC/SC): Height 168 cm; Chest 79–84 cm
- Male (ST): Height 160 cm; Chest 77–82 cm
- Female (UR/OBC/SC): Height 152 cm; Minimum weight 40 kg
- Female (ST): Height 147 cm; Minimum weight 40 kg
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
- “O” Level Computer Examination by NIELIT (DOEACC) or equivalent recognized certification.
- Minimum two years of service in the Territorial Army.
- NCC “B” certificate.
