Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care and clinical services aligned with the applicable system of medicine (Allied/AYUSH/Dental as applicable to the post).
  • Support community health programs, preventive health initiatives, and public health reporting where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, documentation, and compliance with departmental protocols.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in departmental reviews, audits, and health campaigns.
  • For Veterinary roles: provide animal health services, disease surveillance, and field-level interventions.
  • For Drug Inspector roles: conduct inspections, ensure regulatory compliance, sample collection, and reporting as per applicable laws and guidelines.
  • For Health Education roles: plan and execute health education/IEC activities and program monitoring.

Requirements

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025):

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 40 years
  • Age relaxation: as per UPPSC rules

Educational Qualifications (post-wise key eligibility):

  • Medical Officer, Community Health: Degree in Ayurveda or Unani Tib (or equivalent recognized qualification) + registration as Vaidya/Hakeem with the Board of Indian Medicine, UP + minimum 6 months professional experience in State Ayurvedic/Unani/Allopathic hospital/dispensary.
  • Veterinary Officer: B.V.Sc. & A.H. (or recognized equivalent).
  • Swasthya Shiksha Adhikari: Master’s degree in Sociology or any Social Science subject from a recognized university.
  • Homoeopathic Medical Officer: Recognized degree in Homoeopathy (minimum 5 years as per syllabus/course).
  • Inspector of Drugs: Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences OR Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology/Microbiology (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
  • Dental Surgeon: B.D.S. from a recognized university or equivalent recognized by the Indian Dental Council.
  • Chikitsa Adhikari (Ayurveda): Degree in Ayurveda (or 5-year degree/diploma from Board of Indian Medicine, UP) + registration as Vaidya with Board of Indian Medicine, UP + minimum 6 months professional experience in State Ayurvedic/Allopathic hospital/dispensary.
  • Chikitsa Adhikari (Unani): Degree in Unani Tib (or 5-year degree/diploma from Board of Indian Medicine, UP) + registration as Hakeem with Board of Indian Medicine, UP + minimum 6 months professional experience in State Unani/Allopathic hospital/dispensary.
  • Chikitsa Adhikari (Homoeopathic): Recognized degree in Homoeopathy (min 5 years) OR recognized diploma (min 4 years; degree holders preferred) + registration with Homoeopathic Medicine Board, UP.
  • Vetting Officer: Bachelor’s degree (BA with English/Hindi Literature OR BSc OR BCom) with minimum 50% marks + 3-year LLB with minimum 50% marks (or equivalent recognized qualifications).
