Position: Vice Principal (Industrial Training Institute – ITI)
We are seeking a highly capable academic and administrative leader to support the Principal in managing ITI operations, strengthening industry alignment, and ensuring high-quality vocational training delivery. This role is ideal for candidates with strong instructional leadership, compliance orientation, and a commitment to student outcomes and employability.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in overall administration of the ITI, including academic planning, training delivery, and operational management.
- Oversee day-to-day functioning of departments/trades, including timetables, instructor allocation, workshop utilization, and lab readiness.
- Monitor training quality, lesson plans, practical schedules, attendance, assessments, and internal evaluations.
- Lead initiatives for curriculum implementation, skill development activities, and continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes.
- Coordinate industry partnerships for apprenticeships, on-the-job training, guest lectures, and placement support.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government/technical education guidelines, audit requirements, and institutional policies.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance monitoring, and capacity building of instructional and non-instructional staff.
- Manage student discipline, grievance handling, counseling support, and welfare initiatives.
- Oversee documentation, reporting, and record management related to admissions, examinations, certifications, and institutional performance.
- Assist in budgeting, procurement planning (tools, equipment, consumables), and maintenance of workshops/labs.
- Coordinate safety, housekeeping, and statutory compliance within workshops and campus premises.
- Represent the institute in meetings, inspections, and stakeholder engagements as delegated.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a relevant discipline; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant experience in technical/vocational education, training administration, or institutional leadership (years and level may vary by hiring norms).
- Strong understanding of ITI/skill training operations, workshop practices, and employability-focused training outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple stakeholders, and drive compliance and performance.
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of common office/education management tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (or regional language, as applicable).
- High integrity, strong organizational skills, and a student-first mindset.
