Position: Village Development Officer (VDO)
We are seeking dedicated and community-focused professionals to support rural development initiatives, strengthen local governance, and improve delivery of public services at the village level. The Village Development Officer (VDO) plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and monitoring development activities while maintaining accurate records and supporting citizen-facing administrative processes.
Responsibilities
- Support planning and implementation of village-level development programs and public welfare initiatives.
- Coordinate with local bodies, community stakeholders, and relevant departments to ensure timely execution of assigned activities.
- Maintain and update official records, registers, and documentation related to village administration and development works.
- Assist in collecting, verifying, and reporting field data for program monitoring and evaluation.
- Facilitate citizen services, grievance routing, and communication of government schemes and eligibility information.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and status updates as required by supervising authorities.
- Support transparency and compliance by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and available for review.
- Use standard computer tools and designated portals/software for data entry, correspondence, and record management.
- Participate in field visits, inspections, and meetings to track progress and resolve implementation issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university.
- Computer qualification such as O Level, COPA/DPCS, Diploma in Computer Science/Application, or RS-CIT (or equivalent as per applicable norms).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with community members and local stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of common office software and digital record-keeping practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Willingness to work in field conditions and travel within assigned areas as needed.
