The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2026. A total of 4000 vacancies are available across participating public sector banks. Eligible candidates can apply online from July 1, 2026 to July 21, 2026.
Vacancy Details
The post-wise distribution of vacancies is as follows: General – 1600, OBC – 1080, EWS – 400, SC – 600, ST – 320. However, the final numbers may vary as per bank requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates in their final year can apply subject to passing before interview.
Age Limit:Minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years as on August 1, 2026. Age relaxation as per government norms: OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PwBD – up to 10 years, EWS – no upper relaxation.
Selection Process
The selection is based on three stages: Preliminary Examination (online, objective, 100 marks), Main Examination (online, objective and descriptive, 200 marks), and Interview (100 marks). Candidates need to qualify in each stage separately.
Application Fee
General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 850; SC/ST/PwBD: Rs. 175. The fee can be paid through online modes.
