The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the recruitment for Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity for graduates seeking a career in the banking sector. A total of approximately 4000 vacancies are expected to be filled through this recruitment drive across various public sector banks in India.
IBPS conducts the CRP PO exam annually to select suitable candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. The selection process comprises three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview. Candidates must qualify in each stage to be considered for final appointment.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university. Final year students can also apply, but they must produce the degree certificate by the specified date.
Age Limit:The minimum age is 20 years and maximum is 30 years for General and EWS category. Age relaxation is provided to OBC (3 years), SC/ST (5 years), and PwBD (10 years) as per government norms.

The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS candidates is Rs. 850. For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the fee is Rs. 175 (intimation charges only). Payment can be made online via debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination:The prelims is a 1-hour online test with three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Each section has a separate cut-off.
Main Examination:The mains exam consists of objective tests in Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and a descriptive test of English writing skills.
Important Dates
The prelims exam is tentatively scheduled for 22 and 23 August 2026. Other dates such as application start, last date, mains exam, and interview will be announced later on the official IBPS website.
