The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) has announced a recruitment drive for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This is a temporary position initially for one year, renewable for a second year based on performance and project requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:ME/M.Tech/MS in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field from a recognized university. Candidates must have a valid GATE score (not older than 5 years from the application deadline) or a valid NET qualification (JRF/LS).
Age Limit:Maximum 32 years as of the last application date. However, candidates whose highest qualification is BE/B.Tech or M.Sc. must not exceed 28 years. Age relaxation as per government norms for reserved categories.
Selection Process
- Applications will be shortlisted based on qualifications and GATE/NET score.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview on 24 November 2025 at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Patna.
