The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2026. A total of 4000 vacancies are expected to be filled through this recruitment drive. The selection process includes a Preliminary exam, Mains exam, and an Interview. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official IBPS website.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates in their final year can also apply provisionally.
Age Limit:20 to 30 years as of the specified cutoff date. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Application Fee
The application fee is Rs. 850 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and Rs. 175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Payment can be made online.
Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination:An online objective test of 100 marks (1 hour) covering English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Qualifying nature, marks not counted in final merit.
- Mains Examination:An online objective test of 200 marks (3 hours) with sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General Awareness, English, and Data Analysis & Interpretation. There is also a descriptive test of 25 marks (English letter/essay).
- Interview:Candidates shortlisted based on Mains score will be called for Interview, carrying 100 marks (scaled to 80 marks for final score). Document verification is done alongside.
- Final Merit:Based on combined scores of Mains (85%) and Interview (15%) after normalization.
