About the Recruitment

National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack, has invited applications for the post of Assistant Professor in the discipline of Sociology. This recruitment drive aims to fill one vacancy on a regular basis. Eligible candidates who meet the qualifications and possess NET certification can apply by the last date.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Sociology from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Additionally, they must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC regulations. Candidates with Ph.D. may be exempted from NET as per existing norms.

Salary and Benefits

The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary of Rs. 57,700 as per the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix for Assistant Professors. Other allowances and benefits as per university rules will also be applicable.

Interested candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format along with all supporting documents (self-attested copies of educational qualifications, NET certificate, experience certificates, etc.). The application should be sent via Speed Post or Registered Post to the Registrar, National Law University Odisha, Cuttack, Odisha. The envelope must be superscribed withApplication for the post of Assistant Professor (Sociology). The last date for receipt of applications is 6th August 2025.

Selection Procedure

Applications will be screened based on the eligibility criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The date, time, and mode of interview will be communicated individually. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
