About TIFR Visiting Research Scholars Programme

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a premier research institution in India, dedicated to fundamental research in science and mathematics. TIFR invites applications from highly motivated candidates for the position of Visiting Research Scholars. This short-term research opportunity is designed for individuals with a master’s degree in relevant fields to contribute to ongoing research projects at the institute.

Position Details

A total of 1 position is available for Visiting Research Scholars. Selected candidates will work under the guidance of experienced faculty members and will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 67,000. The position is based at TIFR’s main campus in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold an MSC or MS degree in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Astronomy, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. Fresh graduates are eligible to apply. There is no upper age limit for this position.

Selection Process

The selection will involve two stages: first, a screening of applications based on academic qualifications and research background; second, an interview (online or in-person) for shortlisted candidates. Final selection will be based on overall merit.
