The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) has announced a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply via email before the last date.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold an M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, or Nanotechnology. Additionally, they must have a valid GATE score (not older than 5 years from the application deadline) or a valid NET qualification.

Age Limit

For candidates whose highest qualification is BE, B.Tech, or M.Sc., the age should not exceed 28 years. The maximum age limit for all candidates is 32 years. Age relaxation will be as per government norms for reserved categories.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting based on application and GATE/NET score.
2. Offline written exam and interview on 24 November 2025 at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Patna (11:00 AM).
3. Final selection based on overall performance.
