The ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) has invited applications for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a contractual basis. This is a excellent opportunity for postgraduate candidates in plant sciences with research experience to work in a premier agricultural research institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Overview of NBPGR SRF Recruitment 2025

The recruitment aims to fill one vacancy for a Senior Research Fellow at NBPGR, New Delhi. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 42,000 plus applicable allowances. The engagement is initially for a fixed term, extendable based on project requirements and performance.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:Candidates must possess an M.Sc. degree in Botany, Biological Sciences, Plant Biology, Plant Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university. Additionally, they must have cleared NET, GATE, or an equivalent national level examination conducted by DST, DBT, ICAR, ICMR, DRDO, IISc, IIT, IISER, NISER, or other recognized agencies. A minimum of two years of research experience after the qualifying degree is mandatory.

Age Limit:The maximum age for the post is 35 years as of the application deadline. Age relaxation may be applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on the following stages:

• Screening of applications to verify eligibility and experience.
• Shortlisting of suitable candidates for a virtual interview.
• The interview will be conducted online, and shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or phone. Original documents must be produced at the time of joining.
