National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) has announced a recruitment drive for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a sponsored research project. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, lasting for 1 year 7 months, co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess ME/M.Tech/MS in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Nano Science and Technology, Nanotechnology, or Process Metallurgy. B.Tech and M.Sc. holders are also eligible provided they have a valid GATE score or NET qualification.

Age Limit

Maximum age is 28 years as of the last date of application. Age relaxation may apply as per government norms, though not specified in the notification.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 42,000.

Selection Process

Shortlisting of applications will be based on academic records and GATE/NET scores. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview on 29 July 2025. Final selection will depend on performance in the interview.
