IBPS has released the official notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for the 2026-27 cycle. There are 4000 vacancies to be filled across various participating banks. Candidates who have completed their graduation are eligible to apply. The application process will begin in July 2026.
Important Dates
The preliminary examination is scheduled for 22 and 23 August 2026. Admit cards will be issued about 10 days before the exam. The main examination and interview dates are yet to be announced.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university. Age limit is 20 to 30 years as of the application date. Relaxation is applicable for OBC (3 years), SC/ST (5 years), and PwBD (10 years) categories.
Application Fee
General and EWS candidates have to pay Rs. 850 while SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates need to pay Rs. 175 as intimation charges.
Selection Process
The selection comprises:

- Main Exam (Objective + Descriptive, 200 marks)
- Interview (100 marks)
Final merit is prepared based on the total score of Main Exam and Interview.
