Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Kolkata (SMP Port) is seeking qualified candidates for the engagement of Junior Marine Engineer on a contract basis in the Marine Department. There are 3 vacancies available. The remuneration is ₹46,500 per month.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Completed a full-time apprenticeship in an approved marine workshop along with an approved technical school engineering course and the required diploma examination.
- Possess a B.Tech (Marine Engineering) degree.
- Have equivalent training and experience from the Indian Navy and be eligible for the Class IV Part 'A' Engineer's MOT examination.
- Retired Indian Navy personnel holding ranks such as Petty Officer Marine Engineering, CHERA, CH MECH, or POME are fully eligible.
Age limit: Maximum 50 years. (No minimum age specified, but generally 18 years as per standard norms.)
Selection Process
The selection will involve a Written/Proficiency Test and/or Personal Interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of the schedule. Final selection is subject to police verification and medical fitness.
