The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of Librarian positions under the Soil & Water Conservation Department. This is a direct recruitment drive for one vacancy. Candidates who meet the educational and age criteria are invited to apply online.

Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a B.Sc or B.Sc (Hons) degree from a recognized university, along with a Diploma in Library Science or Library Management. The diploma must be of the required duration and from a recognized institution.
Age Limit
The age of the candidate should be between 18 and 32 years as on the date of notification. Age relaxation may be applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

General category candidates need to pay an application fee of ₹350. SC/ST candidates who are permanent residents of Meghalaya are required to pay only half, i.e., ₹175. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are fully exempted from payment, subject to submission of a valid disability certificate. The fee can be paid via e-Challan, GRAS online payment gateway, Debit/Credit Cards, or Net Banking.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in two stages:
- Screening Test:A multiple-choice question (MCQ) written examination of 300 marks. The paper consists of General English (50 marks), General Knowledge (50 marks), and Library Science / Library Management at diploma level (200 marks).
- Personal Interview:Candidates who qualify the screening test will be called for a personal interview. Final merit will be based on combined performance.
