Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a Post Graduate degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) from a recognized university. Alternatively, a 4-year bachelor's degree with 75% marks is also eligible.
Exam Pattern
The exam consists of two papers:
- Paper I: Teaching/research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, general awareness – 50 questions, 100 marks, 3 hours.
- Paper II: Subject-specific domain knowledge – 100 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours.

The last date to apply online was 10th December 2024 (revised to 11th December).
For JRF candidates, maximum age is 31 years. For NET candidates, there is no age limit. Age relaxation applies as per rules.
Candidates who have completed Post Graduation with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved) from a recognized university are eligible. Also, candidates with a 4-year Bachelor's degree with 75% marks can apply.
