The Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad (IIT ISM Dhanbad) has announced a recruitment drive for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a research project. This is a temporary position initially for a period of one year, extendable based on performance and project requirements.

Job Details

The JRF position is in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The selected candidate will work on a sponsored research project at the institute. The monthly fellowship is Rs. 42,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:Candidates must possess ME/M.Tech/MS in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized university. Additionally, they must have qualified GATE or CSIR/UGC NET or any other national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments, agencies, or institutions. Candidates without a valid score in such exams will not be considered.

Age Limit:Maximum 35 years as of the last date of application. Age relaxation may be applicable as per government norms.

Application Process

Interested candidates are required to send their application along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents via email to the Principal Investigator at santanu@iitism.ac.in. The subject line should clearly mention the post applied for. The application must include a detailed biodata, copies of educational certificates, age proof, experience certificates (if any), GATE/NET certificate, and caste certificate (if applicable).

Applications must be received on or before 16 January 2026. Incomplete or late applications will be summarily rejected.

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic record, GATE/NET score, and relevant experience. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the date and mode of interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The final selection will be based on performance in the interview.
